Pastor Laurentiu (Lawrence) Serban – M.Div, Ph.D.
Pastor Lawrence was born and raised in the communist country of Romania where he lived for almost three decades until the communist regime collapsed in the Eastern part of Europe. Pastor Lawrence received his call to ministry early in life, but due to the governmental control on religious education, he was unable to fulfill his dream until he moved to the United States in 1993. His former education was in civil engineering, with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in science. Prior to his move to the United Sates he worked as an associate evangelism coordinator for the Romanian Union of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. After his arrival to the States, Pastor Lawrence continued his education at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI, where he completed his Masters of Divinity and Ph.D. in Religious Education. During his studies at Andrews he worked as a math and statistics teacher at Lake Michigan College, while also serving smaller churches in the area as a volunteer pastor and ministry leader. Pastor Lawrence was called to serve as the Pastor of the High Point Seventh-day Adventist Church in 2005. Together with his companion in ministry – his wife Adriana, and their two daughters, Heidi and Beatrice – he continues his pastoral ministry in the Triad area of North Carolina. His passion is in teaching, ministry, and practical theology, while also enjoying a quality life full of hiking, water sports, and winter sports. His goal in ministry is to see a vibrant church witnessing for Christ.
